Anne Arundel County, MD Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan

SCI served as the prime consultant for the development of a Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The project includes the development of a prioritized network plan and a detailed funding plan for short and long-term implementation projects. This project involved extensive research of local policies, practices and zoning laws to determine their effect on bicycling and walking, and recommendations for revisions that will encourage higher levels of bicycle and pedestrian activity. A key part of the study is the corridor concept plans for high priority routes throughout the county. These plans define needed connections, recommend changes to the cross section, identify intersection improvements, and provide a preliminary estimate of cost. Project tasks: GIS analysis, policy and procedures research, network planning, corridor analysis, education program development, action plan strategies, and prioritization of routes.
