Ocala Regional Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan

The Ocala-Marion County Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan blueprints a 130 mile trail network and integrated on-road transportation system. The extensive bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian trails and pathways will link the historic downtown to the intrastate Cross-Florida Greenway and the existing Withlacoochee State (rail) Trail. Access to open space vistas and the use of utility transmission corridors for multi-use trails are key components of the Master Plan. The planned network connects the City’s established urban areas to the picturesque countryside of Marion County. The Master Plan forms a careful balance between meeting growing urbanized transportation needs and preserving scenic corridors, while using a variety of corridor facility types to enhance recreational opportunities
