St. Lucie MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning

The St. Lucie MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning is a master planning project completed by Landis Evans + Partners, formerly Sprinkle Consulting. With subconsultants CUTR and Greenways Incorporated, the Project Team inventoried existing facilities, parks, schools and both road network and trail development opportunities. Interactive community workshop sessions solicited input for community visioning and corridor enhancement identification. The final Plan consists of both a network of bicycle and pedestrian corridors, as well as funding and implementation strategy. It is a result of the cooperative efforts of the MPO staff, the MPO’s constituencies, and the Consultant Team headed by Landis Evans. The Plan is founded upon an engineering-based evaluation of existing conditions and the innovative Latent Demand Score Model to identify high demand scores. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) linked mapping results in cost-effective graphics for technical analysis and public presentations.
